Yin Yang Flow yoga classes combine a yin yoga practice with a yang-style or flow practice.
The Yin Yoga part of the class is quiet and meditative, and usually ground-orientated. Yin poses are held for longer periods of time – anywhere between 2 to 5 minutes – and work towards healthy connective tissues by introducing long-held postures targeting specific areas or meridian points of our bodies, which in turn encourages the flow of qi (energy) in the body.
The Yang part of the class is inspired by Qigong movement practices, and allows us to continue the flow of qi through the body. This part of the class is faster paced, and works on a muscular level with rhythm and repetition.
This class is taught in the style of Jo Phee and her teachers Paul and Suzee Grilley.
